| Aztec Trails & Open Space - Events and Happenings Weekly - Friday Night Bicycle Cruises - Summer 2010
Where: Meet at the Minium Park Pavilion (behind Safeway in Aztec) When: Every Friday Night, June Through September Times: 7:00 pm (will leave pavilion @ 7:10pm) Join Aztec Trails & Open Space every Friday evening at 7:00 pm at the pavillion in Minimium Park for Bicycle Cruise Nights. Novice to Expert - all are welcome. Get to know other people who enjoy riding their bicycles. Each week is a different route and difficulty level through a different neighborhood of Aztec. This is an informal social event for people who enjoy riding their bikes and getting to know their community. Anyone under 18 must wear a bicycle helmet to participate. Where: Riverside Park, Aztec When: November 2010 Times: TBA http://cycling.fortlewis.edu YouTube video of a Cyclocross Race: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VRZOa_E9Qs8 This event is co-hosted by Fort Lewis College and Aztec Trails & Open Space. For those not familiar with Cyclocross, this is a great spectator sport. The races will be done in laps around the park and will include portions of the BMX track, developed trail segments and sections of obstacles for the racers to carry their bicycles through. Opening ceremonies are at 6 pm followed by the survivor lap honoring those who have or are still battling cancer. The event continues all night filled with entertainment and activities.
